About the Short Film
This short documentary film celebrates the remarkable 70-year missionary journey of Lambert and Doris Anderson who dedicated their lives to bringing God's Word to the Ticuna people—an indigenous tribe along the Amazon River in regions of Peru, Colombia, and Brazil.
The Ticuna were known for their isolation, a notoriously complex unwritten language (one of the most challenging for translation), and a history marked by violence and fragmentation.
What began in 1953 as a daunting task—learning and analyzing this intricate language while building trust with a wary community—evolved into a deep, family-like bond. Over decades, the Andersons (now in their 90s) worked alongside Ticuna partners to translate the Bible. This work has had profound, lasting impact:
Lives transformed as individuals encountered Jesus through Scripture in their heart language.
A formerly divided and isolated people became united, with many finding hope, purpose, and salvation in Christ.
The gospel took root in a remote Amazonian context, preserving cultural dignity while introducing eternal truth.
